Youth Night FAQ's

YOUTH NIGHT FAQ’s

Starting June 22/23 we are excited to welcome our high school youth into the worship center permanently for all services. High schoolers will no longer have a separate high school weekend worship experience, instead we will worship inter-generationally every weekend together! Swing by the Youth booth on the patio to get connected and sit with the youth team or alongside of your family.

Then, beginning on June 23 from 6-7:30pm, we will kick off our summer Sunday nights for our summer youth experience. Click here for our summer calendar:

What is Youth night

Youth Night is the High School Youth at Mariners Church Youth Program. It consists of two main things: Worship service (music+teaching) and Life Group.

Where is Youth Night

Youth Night takes place in the Student Center on the Mariners Church Irvine Campus.

When is Youth Night

Youth Night happens twice a week: Sunday Night and Wednesday Night. These programs are identical on a weekly basis. We offer the same program, two options. Youth Night starts on Sunday September 8th, and Wednesday September 11th.

Why two every week?

Orange County is deemed one of the busiest counties. Students and families are busier than ever with sports practices, ASB, work, school, having a social life, and everything in between. We wanted to make it as easy as we could for a student to enter our program with as little stress as possible with families. A student will come to Youth Night and will consistently show up to that Youth Night every week because that is when their Life Group is meeting. Students should not bounce between Youth Nights because of the consistency of their Life Group.

How do Life Groups at Youth Night work?

Your student will have an opportunity to sign up for a Life Group on either a Sunday Night or Wednesday Night. Once your child signs up for a group, that is the night they will be attending Youth Night. Life Groups take place directly after the message portion of the Youth Night Program.

What does the program for Youth night look like?

Youth Night is 2 hours long with a typical program looking like this:
Sunday Night (s) Wednesday Night (w):
s5:30, w6:30 -doors open (come early and hang if you’d like)
s6:00, w7:00 -Program begins
s6:50, w7:50 -Send to Life Groups
s7:00, w8:00 -Life Group
s8:00, w9:00 -Program Ends

What will the Life Groups be studying

The life groups curriculum will be based on the message each week. The HS team looks at the entire year as a whole and prayerfully discerns what High School Students need to talk about. Things like peer pressure, friendships, dating, scripture memorization, gospel articulation, and other pertinent things High Schoolers should know.

Where do students go on Saturday Night/Sunday Morning?

Students now have the opportunity to attend the Mariners main service on Saturday nights or Sunday mornings. They can either sit with their parents or help us create a Youth section and sit with the HS Youth team during these services. There will also be a “youth booth” on the patio to get students connected on a weekly basis.
